Multitude of activities during Skate-A-Thon (06/17/09)
The Clay Community Skatepark Committee hopes the public will come out Saturday and enjoy the Skate-A-Thon at Walmart, 2150 East National Ave., Brazil. "I would really like to see the public come out and see that this is a bunch of regular kids who need a safe place to skate and instead of being shunned away all the time," CCSC representative Roberta Weliever recently told The Brazil Times about the upcoming fundraising event. Local law enforcement officials are urging local residents to be cautious around any strange bottles they might find. The City of Brazil is encouraging residents to take a proactive approach in the beautification of area neighborhoods. Saturday will mark the kick-off of Brazil Summer Clean-Up Days as part of an effort to improve the overall appearance of the city.
