PARKERSBURG, Iowa (AP) -- A high school coach who helped launch several professional football careers was gunned down by a former player Wednesday morning in front of students taking part in an offseason workout, authorities said. Brother Dale Dickison, 77, Brazil, died June 23, 2009, at the Vermillion Convalescent Center following an extended illness. He was born May 22, 1932, in Clay County, the son of Abraham Dickison and Ethel Emma Howard Dickison. He attended Wools Elementary School and then later attended Staunton High School. He served two tours in the U.S. Army and also served in the Naval Reserve. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was stationed on the front lines during the Korean War...
