New signs dedicated for Craig Park lakes (11/17/10)
Through the efforts of a local business, two new signs were placed in George N. Craig Park Monday, indicating the names of the two bodies of water. In 1978, then Brazil Mayor Norval Pickett signed a proclamation naming the lake on the west side of the park Dr. S. Rahim Farid Lake after the Clay County Health Department chief officer. In the same proclamation, the lake on the east side of the park was named after resident Louise Phillabaum...

Well folks it looks as if Indian Summer is moving out, as swiftly as we embraced her warmth. I can't complain about the weather this weekend. We needed the few drops of precipitation that we received. After days and days, when nary a thimbleful fell from the sky; I welcomed the sprinkling of moisture with an open umbrella!
