CCSR hosting 'BBQ and Blues'

Clay County Search and Rescue will host a "BBQ and Blues" fundraiser at the Forest Park Cow Palace Saturday, June 18. The event runs 6-8 p.m., and will feature live music by "Dicky James and the Blue Flames." Cost is $6, which includes a dinner of BBQ, two sides and a drink. Kids age 10 and under eat for free. A free concert begins around 7 p.m. Door prizes and corn hole games will also be setup...

Mary R. Bridgewaters, 69, Brazil, passed away at Regional Hospital June 7, following a long illness. Mary was born on Nov. 8, 1941, the daughter of Bill and Dorothy Taylor in Oxford, Mich. She graduated from Pontiac High School. Following high school, Mary went to work as the cook at Pine Knob Ski Lodge in Pontiac, Mich. She continued her life as a cook for many different restaurants.
