Breastfeeding event to be Sat. (08/01/12)
A Clay County woman is hosting an event in honor of August being National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. New Trashcans (08/01/12)
Brazil Main Street, Inc., has placed 18 trash barrels along sidewalks in downtown Brazil. Ten of the trashcans are sponsored by area businesses and include decals on the sides, advertising their business. However, eight more barrels need sponsors. The cost to sponsor a barrel is $150. Kenneth O. Hood, 83, Brazil, died Aug. 1, 2012, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital following difficulties after surgery. Ken was born in Carbon, Ind., Dec. 27, 1928, the son of Fred O. and Cynthia (Pell) Hood. He graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1946. His classmates will remember him by his last-second shot that won the game between the Brazil Red Devils and the Van Buren Blue Devils in the 1946 sectional game...
