County Council approves many appropriations (11/08/12)

Last precinct election votes counted, final numbers in (11/08/12)
All the votes are finally in. The election Tuesday did not go off without a glitch in Clay County. Machines in the Jackson 3 Precinct malfunctioned and 40-50 votes were unable to be counted. Though officials say these votes would not have impacted the final tally they still needed to be counted...
Charity auction raises $1K (11/08/12)
Brazil Auction House recently had an auction with all the proceeds going to Clay County Toys for Tots. The auction had many items such as handmade ink pens, gift certificates, jewelry, memberships and more. An estimated 30 people came to the event. "It went very well," Tim Conner, one of the event coordinators, said. "I was surprised at the turn out, of how many people came and the kind of money they were willing to spend to help kids out."...

The Clay County Senior Citizen's Center, 120 S. Franklin St., Brazil, will host a country music evening Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. Food will be served as a fundraiser. The music will be provided for a freewill donation. The community is invited to attend.

The deceased was identified through dental records as Allyson J. Elmi-Lewis, 39, Terre Haute.
