Students conduct service project (12/19/12)
Students in Michelle Burk's Introduction to Teaching class recently had a service project to collect and donate boxes of educational materials to Staunton Elementary and Meridian Elementary. The course, offered for the first time this year, consists of students who are all interested in going into teaching. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the students learn in the classroom at NHS. Donations to help 75 families (12/19/12)
The community of Clay County has been collecting toys this holiday season for local children in need. Clay County Toys for Tots has 75 families with more than 200 children who will participate in the distribution day Saturday, Dec. 22. Castle to take reservations (12/19/12)
During the Rotary Club meeting Wednesday, special guests included Doug and Mary Jo Smock, owners of Clayshire Castle. The Smocks told Rotary members the castle will be open May of 2013. They plan to start taking reservations in January. The Brazil City Garage recently announced it is asking all residents to place their trash out before noon, Monday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve).
