Ruth Ann Svihla, 15-months-old, died Jan. 30, 2013. Ruth was known for her gorgeous brown eyes, wide smile, social graces and stubbornness. She and her family thank you for all your thoughts, wishes and support. She will be greatly missed. Ruthie is survived by her parents Ryan and Rita Svihla, Houston, Texas, formerly of San Antonio, Texas, and also by a very special aunt "Oba" -- MaryBeth DeLeon, who put her life on hold to help in the daily care and nurturing of Ruthie; godparents Richard and Allyson Hamlin and son Hudson, San Antonio, paternal grandmother Doreen Ann (Svihla) Jones, Terre Haute and Clay County, paternal great-grandparents Charles and Frances Svihla and great-great-aunt Mary E.Wright, all of Terre Haute, maternal grandparents Anthony and Cecilia DeLeon and son Matthew DeLeon, Caldwell, Texas, as well as their daughter Sarah DeLeon, Austin, Texas, and numerous extended family members.. ...

Circus performance set for Thursday

The circus is coming to town! Stardust Circus will conduct a performance Thursday at 7 p.m., at the Brazil National Guard Armory, 970 W. The article, "NCMS winter guard places seventh," which appeared in the Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, issue of The Brazil Times, stated the guard placed seventh overall Saturday at the contest in Danville. The North Clay winter guard actually received a gold medal. Placings are not given out in Cadet Class through the Indiana High School Color Guard Association. The Brazil Times apologizes for this error...
