Weather keeps Putnamville Troopers busy along I-70

Recent weather conditions kept state troopers busy along Interstate 70 today. Indiana State Police Putnamville Troopers responded to 30 calls total between midnight and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, according to a news release. Of the 30 calls, 24 were property damage crashes, four slide offs and two were personal injury crashes resulting in minor injuries. All were along the Interstate 70 in Vigo and Clay counties...

Police: stranded driver was wanted in Clay County

Police arrested a wanted Jasonville woman Tuesday afternoon after first finding her stranded along State Road 54 in rural Greene County. Sheri Fiscus, 34, had run her 2002 Saturn out of gas and was parked along the state highway near Linton when an ISP commercial vehicle enforcement trooper stopped to assist her. The ISP report states Fiscus did not have warm clothing and refused multiple offers for a ride to Linton from the officer, despite the temperature being below freezing...
