Brazil Fire Chief Jake Bennett had good news for the Board of Works on Wednesday morning: the Brazil Fire Department had no calls for any fireworks emergencies during the Fourth of July holiday. Police Chief Clint McQueen reported he plans to have a candidate to be interviewed by the board to fill an opening on the police force. 2nd kidnapping suspect agrees to plead guilty; sentencing hearing set for next month

A sentencing hearing has been set for one of the five people arrested in connection with an alleged kidnapping in December. Clay Superior Court Judge J. Blaine Akers took Levi G.
