(AP) -- The Vigo County sheriff says a prisoner is in critical condition after leaping off the third floor of the county courthouse in Terre Haute. Sheriff Greg Ewing says 41-year-old Charles Maffioli of Terre Haute had emergency surgery at Terre Haute Regional Hospital following the leap Friday morning to the ground floor of the rotunda of the courthouse.
