It will be good news when the statement is made today that the baseball grounds of the new fairgrounds will not be plowed up as was threatened a few days ago, notice of which was published in the Times. Trees can be picked up this week

Pick-up dates for the free trees ordered through the Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District are upcoming. Dates and times are as follows: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. In addition to the tree pickup, rainbarrel and composter orders will be taken. Rainbarrel are $67 each and composters are $125. Pickup dates for those items are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19-22...

Genealogical society hosting meeting April 19

Brazil City Council member Steve Bell and his wife, Michelle, enjoyed dinner Saturday at the annual fish fry fundraiser for the Clay County Habitat for Humanity at the 4-H Fairgrounds. The dinner and silent auction is the main fundraising project for the group and all the profits will be used for the building of the 10th home in Clay County, which is expected to start construction in 2017. Senior center yard sale aims to replace lost funding
