Clay County Election Clerk Jason Jacobs said this was the second highest turnout since 1984, behind only the 2008 Presidential election. In that year, when Democratic Senator Barack Obama won the election over Republican Senator John McCain, there were 19,641 registered voters in Clay County with 11,663 voters casting their ballots. ...

Dinner benefits soon-to-be reality memorial park

Keith Kowitz, a committee member of the Honoring Our Military’s Efforts (HOME) Clay County Military Plaza project, spent Saturday afternoon prepping the turkey for the fundraiser dinner at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1127, located at 303 South Depot St., Brazil. All the funds raised will support the building of the memorial park that will be located at Craig Park.
