Disc golfers raising money for charity

On Saturday, Forest Park in Brazil will be the site of the fifth leg of a disc golf tournament fundraiser series that benefits charities in each of the communities it touches. Titled the Blizzard Thru the Forest, the event will benefit the Clay County Emergency Food Pantry. The tournament is part of the Western Indiana Frozen Fundraiser Series, or WIFFS, that raises money for charities in communities where events are held.

Funding for employees in prosecutor’s office on radar

Members of the Clay County Council have a few months before they begin budget meetings. In the meantime, the council will have to consider how to fund two jobs in the county prosecutor’s office next year. The positions would have been funded by a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant but the county’s application was denied.
