Emergency food pantry CEO says locks have been broken but nothing taken so far

Long-time volunteer memorialized at food pantry

The late Miriam Cooksey has been memorialized in her own room at the Clay County Emergency Food Pantry on East Pinckley Street near Forest Park. Miriam spent 15 years of her life following the death of her husband volunteering at the food pantry. She had wanted to be a missionary when she was young but never had the opportunity to serve overseas. “She had a real passion for mission work, whether here or at the church,” said one of her five daughters, Rita Linton, on the day her mother was to be honored.
