Investigation continues into shooting that left one dead, another critical

Police continue to investigate a shooting Tuesday that left one person dead and another in critical condition. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that Mark Thomas, 62, died from a single gunshot wound, while his wife, Tammy Thomas, 59, remains in critical condition at a Terre Haute hospital after being shot multiple times.

Hydrant flushing under way in Brazil

Brazil City Fire Chief Jake Bennett reports his department will start flushing hydrants in the northeast portion of the city in the vicinity of Walmart and Murphy Avenue on Thursday. Water customers are urged to use standard precautions. Discoloration is possible, but no contamination should occur during this process.
