Thompson named 'Teacher of the Year'

Stacey L Thompson believes in teaching patriotism to her students in the Life Skills classroom at Forest Park Elementary in Brazil. She was honored for this by VFW Post 1127 who selected her as Teacher of the Year. As this year’s winner, she received a certificate and a $500 gift certificate to purchase items for her classroom. The 17th annual Shop With A Cop event took place this week as children from 34 families went shopping at the local Walmart. “All this wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for all the help we get from the community,” said Brazil Police Chief Clint McQueen at Riddell National Bank while children met and had their picture taken with Santa Claus before getting a snack and watching a holiday movie. ...
