Times Staff Report BLOOMINGTON — A combination of the long ball and the short game proved to be decisive Monday night as Bloomington South rallied to claim an 8-7 win over Northview on the softball diamond. An error on a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the sixth inning put runners on the corners for the Panthers. Northview junior varsity Knights sweep past Vikings in doubleheader

Times Staff report The Northview junior varsity baseball team picked up a pair of Monday victories against rival West Vigo. The Knights recorded a 3-1 win in game one and finished with a 9-0 shutout victory over the visiting Vikings. The game one pitching win went to Benjamin Goshen, who went four innings and struck out seven hitters during a scoreless outing. An estimated 130 people attended Monday’s Lincoln Day Dinner at the Center Point United Methodist Church, said Pastor Bob Kumpf. The attendance was up significantly from the 85 or so people who attended last year.
