INDOT promises to slow plows after broken windows downtown

The driver of the that snow plow that is believed to have broken windows in downtown Brazil is no longer with the Indiana Department of Transportation, said Mayor Brian Wyndham at Wednesday’s meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety. City plans to buy property for future expansion of water treatment plant

The City of Brazil is going to buy a house and land on U.S. 40 adjacent to the Water Treatment Plant. The decision to buy the property, assessed at $74,600, to be purchased for $40,000, was made at Wednesday’s meeting of the City Council. The reason to purchase the house and land is the anticipated future expansion of water storage in three or more years. In the meantime, the city can rent out the property to recoup some of the $40,000 cost. ...

After being talked about for a couple of years, the Brazil Parks Board approved a proposal to create a dog park at Craig Park Tuesday night. The enclosed dog park is expected to be about an acre in size and will be located in the back of the park, near the fenced-in area at the water tower.
