An unexpected twist in the case of a stolen car at Speedway has officials wanting to thank the public. “We want to thank the public, and all the officers from other departments, who helped identify our suspect,” said Detective Josh Lynch, who posted photos of the suspect on Facebook which were taken from security video at the gas station. “We were getting reliable information right away.”...

$6,000 donation appreciated by Humane Society shelter

Toni Carter, Clay County Humane Society board member, is with Sherry Ray who generously donated six new stainless steel cat kennels valued at $6,000. These kennels replace steel wire kennels that have been painted and revamped many times over. “The stainless steel kennels are much more sanitary and easier to maintain,” said Patti Dulin, a Humane Shelter representative. ...
