Brazil Police Department's Lt. Dave Archer rides into the sunset

After serving for more than 25 years, Lt. Dave Archer worked his last shift at the Brazil City Police Department Tuesday. Archer had announced he intended to retire a few months ago. “It kind of crept up on me,” Archer said early Tuesday morning as he went about completing the final details of a career he has truly enjoyed. “I honestly don’t have any words right now. Space heater could be cause of house fire

The American Red Cross is helping a Brazil family after a house fire Friday night. Members of the Brazil Fire Department were dispatched around 7:45 p.m. to a structure fire at 303 N Ashley Street, near the intersection at Olive street. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the fire had engulfed the downstairs, the front porch and was extending into the second story. The flames and thick smoke were visible for several blocks...
