Members of the Presbyterian denomination first came to Brazil, Indiana, in 1850. They met for services in homes and in the early log cabin town hall, at the corner of Walnut and Church Streets. She was born in Vigo, County, Indiana, on April 28, 1938, the daughter of Vern and Lela (Stephens) Swalls. After graduating from high school she worked for Hulman and Company in Terre Haute. Barbara married Frank Jones Jr. on November 28, 1958. She spent most of her working life at Bemis in Terre Haute and retired after serving the company for 33 years...
