INDOT work on US40

IVY JACOBS photos - The Indiana Department of Transportation road crews are busy along the north side of US40 east of Brazil to Harmony working on a patching project. Wabash Valley Asphalt crews are patching areas in the highway, with work scheduled to be completed in late June. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in the area due to single lanes open for traffic during the day and overnight lane closures to allow the patches to cure. Read more on Page 8...

The COVID-19 crisis has a lot of people needing help, and many people are reaching out, including a Brazil mother-daughter sewing team. “If I see anyone needing anything, and if I have it, I help,” said Katelyn “Kate” Nesmith. “I was kind of stockpiling sewing supplies before all this craziness started. I enjoy sewing, and I got the idea of making face masks on a sewing group on Facebook.”...

Clay County has 13 COVID-19 cases

Clay County Health Department officials confirmed late Sunday there are now are 13 confirmed cases in the county. The two new cases are hospitalized according to County Health Nurse Kim Hyatt, bringing the hospitalized cases to four, with nine patients in self-isolation at home and at least one in recovery. One hospitalized after shooting, officials investigating

Details are limited due to the ongoing investigation into a shooting early Sunday morning. Officials confirm the altercation at a residence located at 5131 West State Road 340 happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Clay County Chief Deputy Josh Clarke said an unidentified 35-year-old male was shot, transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital in critical condition, and underwent surgery Sunday morning...
