Miles Haviland, a junior at Northview High School, may have been the youngest election judge in Clay County history. Age 16, he became interested in elections after watching a political debate on YouTube. He said he doesn't know if he wants to ever run for office because of the large commitment but he definitely wants to continue helping on future election days. Tuesday's Primary Election went smoothly, more absentee voting than usual

The results of Tuesday's Primary Election in Clay County may not have been a surprise to anyone who has lived and voted in Clay County for a number of years. If you are a Republican, you could choose between Donald Trump and Bill Weld for the presidential nomination (Trump received 97% of the votes cast) and Janet McClellan and Brittany Wallace for Republican Precinct Committee person Brazil 1 (McClellan received 67% of the vote.)...

TOP STORY OF THE DAY: 3 deaths from COVID-19

Although the Indiana State Health Department (ISDH) website has not updated Clay County’s COVID-19 information, on Wednesday, Clay County Public Health Nurse Kim Hyatt confirmed the third death. Hyatt said the local resident had been hospitalized for the illness, same as for the other two cases reporting deaths. Further details are not being released due to the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)...
