'That's All, Brother' on display in Terre Haute

“That’s All Brother” is a C-47 and was the lead aircraft on the D-Day invasion carrying about 13,000 paratroopers on Tuesday, June 6, 1944. Commemorative Air Force, Central Texas Wing in San Marcos, TX, discovered the plane in a “boneyard” and has painstakingly documented its authenticity while restoring the aircraft in 2016 so it could fly once more. A feature-length, historical documentary that chronicles the history of the plane is currently in the works. The C-47 is currently parked just outside of Hoosier Aviation at the Terre Haute Regional Airport. It will be available for tours ($5 per person) and flights ($249 per person, approximately 30 minutes) through Thursday. The Brazil Times will have a story and more photos in Friday’s edition.

CCS board learns benefits of new Van Buren therapy dog

Clay Community School Board of Trustees learned about the benefits of having a therapy dog in class during their recent meeting at the Central Administrative Building. “A therapy dog will have so many benefits,” said special education teacher Brooke Kraemer, who has a transition classroom at Van Buren Elementary for students in kindergarten through second grade with difficulties coping with their emotions in a natural classroom setting. ...
