I have this little notebook I keep in my purse that I use to write down things I don’t want to forget. Say I hear a snippet of a conversation and I think it might make a good column idea, I’ll quickly jot it down to refer to later. Or I might write down a funny line from a TV show or a movie that might come in handy later. The theory is that when I get writer’s block, I’ll be able to refer to something in the notebook that will get my creative juices flowing again. That’s the theory, anyway...
