Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy Brison Swearingen was honored with a combat medal and plaque from the Clay County Merit Board at Clay County Courthouse Tuesday. Swearingen was injured during a December 3, 2021, incident, when he was shot in the leg while attempting to serve a warrant on Joe L. Hofmann, 42, Jasonville, near Clay City. Swearingen is still recovering but has been able to return to active duty in a limited capacity this week...

In conjunction with the Annual Tractor Drive Day held during FFA Week, Clay City FFA hosted a “Best Tractor” contest to raise money to buy toy tractors for patients at Riley Hospital for Children.
