Sampson named FCA’s West Central Indiana scholarship winner

During the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ recent sports banquet recently, Northview senior Braxton Sampson was presented with the West Central Indiana Fellowship of Christian Athletes Character award and scholarship. Sampson spent the fall playing for Northview’s football team and helped lead the Knights to their first-ever sectional championship game. He then spent the winter playing for Northview’s boys basketball teams and, again, helped lead the Knights to the sectional championship game...

Jean C. Moody, 70, passed away April 25, 2022. She was born on December 3, 1951, to Claude Tisdale and Mary Jones Tisdale. Jean was preceded in death by both parents, siblings June and Billie as well as her great granddaughter Maelynne Moody. A lawsuit has been filed by four ICE-held inmates of the Clay County Jail, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, against Clay County and several local officials. The complaint was filed April 25 by a Chicago attorney. The plaintiffs contend that federal funds were improperly diverted to county projects, while they suffered “grossly inadequate conditions.” Examples listed in the complaint include a county purchase of an $83,000 air conditioning system for the courthouse and employee raises and bonuses, as funds that were improperly used. ...
