Anticipation is growing about the newly renovated Brazil Library.

Typically summer reading programs would be offered, and summer has started. With children out of school now, a lot of parents are wondering when is the library going to re-open?

"We still don't have an opening date," said Jill Scarbrough, Director. "There are some minor details that our architect still has to attend to, and then we have to be inspected."

The library staff has been incredibly busy stocking shelves with books moved from the library annex across the street, and books that were in storage. New arrivals have been coming in for the last year, and are waiting on the shelves for readers to enjoy.

The staff can't wait to re-open.

"They are more than ready to open," Scarbrough said. "They want to show off the new addition as much as residents want to see it."

When the Library does re-open, there will be a bit of fanfare. The Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony, and the doors will open to the public.

Keep reading The Brazil Times for more information on this anticipated event.
