Details are sketchy at this time due to the ongoing investigation, but Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton has confirmed that an anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Bloomington, Ind., man on two drug-related charges during a traffic stop Thursday evening.

Upon receiving information that an individual in possession of materials to manufacture methamphetamine was believed to traveling in the southern part of the county, members of the Clay County Drug Task Force -- consisting of the Clay County Sheriff's, Clay City and Brazil City Police departments and other members of local law enforcement-- performed a traffic stop in an undisclosed area near Bowling Green shortly after 7 p.m.

Stephen Robert Bell, 38, was allegedly found in possession of enough materials to manufacture approximately six ounces of methamphetamine, which, according to Heaton, would have a street value of approximately $9,000.

Taken into custody and booked into the Clay County Justice Center on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana/hashish and manufacturing methamphetamine, Bell remains in jail on a $25,000 cash bond while the case is under review by the Clay County Prosecutor's Office for further possible charges.
