That isn't true for Seth Ringo. His dream has been to attend recording school, and learn how to work in a studio and record music.
He is one step closer to that goal thanks to a single raffle ticket he bought on a whim.
Ringo was the winner of the $10,000 grand prize drawing at the end of the Brazil Rotary Fourth of July Carnival.
He was in town Wednesday to accept the prize at the weekly Rotary meeting at the Coffee Cup Restaurant.
He even brought his own fan club, grandparents John and Mildred Ringo, aunt and uncle, Pam and Jim Ringo, and his very proud father Randy Ringo.
"I moved home about a year-and-a-half ago, trying to save money to go to school," Ringo said.
"I can't believe it's finally going to happen. I'm happy, and I think my dad's happy to have his house back. I can't thank the Rotary enough for helping to make this happen."
Ringo leaves at the end of August to attend the L.A. Recording School for a 36-week program.
"I'm going to miss him," Randy Ringo said, "But I'm so happy he gets this chance."
"I'll miss everybody," Ringo said. "But I'm ready for this."
