She was born on Nov. 17, 1928, in Chicago, as the daughter of Frank Mann and Edith Wellington.
She loved to crotchet, listen to old-time music, ceramics, and she loved her Bible. She worked as a 24-hour child abuse care assistant for the Welfare office in her earlier years.
Survivors include children Randy Peebles and girlfriend Crystal Stearley, Seelyville, Charlie Peebles and wife Cindy, Clinton, Ruth Ann Long, Terre Haute, Judy Anderson, Terre Haute, and Gary Herman and wife Liz, Prairie Creek.
Other survivors include grandchildren, Stephanie Ellinger, Wesley Brock, Kittie Shaw, Dixie Brock, Gary Herman Jr. and Christopher Herman; brother Frank Mann; sisters Violet Infinger and Edith and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles F. Peebles, sons-in-law Kenneth Long and Joe Anderson, sister Opal Unrein, sister-in-law Pat Mann, daughter Bonnie Peebles and beloved dog Lady.
Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home. Services will at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
