Vandalism continues to be a problem throughout Clay County.

Sometime during the past two weeks, the sign at the entrance of the Hickory Ridge subdivision, located at C.R. 800 N, east of S.R. 59, was pushed over and broken into pieces.

"As of this moment, no incident report has been filed," Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton said.

Current information from an ongoing investigation by deputies of the Clay County Sheriff's Department indicates this act of vandalism may have been committed by a group of juveniles.

The exact date of the incident is unknown and the sheriff's department is looking for more information to help the ongoing investigation.

"If anyone has any information to help solve this or any other case of vandalism, they should call the sheriff's department immediately," Heaton said, adding that dispatchers are available all hours of the day to record the information at the Clay County Justice Center by calling 812-446-2535.
