"I hook people up in the community," she said. "My desire is to take care of everybody."
She couldn't have picked a better position to do so.
Watler recently added to her growing list of daily duties by taking the position of administrative assistant for the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, Inc. She officially began duties in late June after replacing Cheryl Myers.
Watler -- a lifelong resident of Brazil -- is married to Glen Watler. She has four children, Don, 26, Jessica, 22, Charla, 20, and Kali, 15.
In addition, she is a grandmother of three.
In addition to her duties with the Chamber, Watler is also the Youth for Christ Director in Brazil as well as the area representative for Center for Cultural Interchange, which houses exchange students in Clay County.
Watler is also working toward her certified candidacy for a license to preach for the United Methodist Church.
With her new position, Watler said she hopes to meet more people in the community.
"I wan to get out and actually meet the people," she said. "I'm not a sit-behind-the-desk kind of girl."
Currently, she deals with people at the Chamber office on a daily basis in addition to putting together the monthly Chamber gram, an informational news item regarding updates within the Chamber.
The Chamber office, located at 535 National Ave., Brazil, is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
