Thelma Juanita Neda Horton Shonk, 89, Clay City, died at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2007, in the Holly Hill Healthcare facility.

Born Oct. 12, 1917, in Vigo County, she was the daughter of Charles and Effie Ellis Harris.

She was a homemaker and member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Fred Shonk on June 24, 2006; brother John Horton, and sister Loa Nevins.

Survivors include sisters Iva Hubbell, Jasonville, and Agnes Sinders, Clay City; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Couch officiating. Burial will follow in Sink Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
