Former Lennon guitarist to give free performance

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

Son Catchers, featuring Michael Rose on guitar, will perform a free concert at 8 p.m. Friday at the old Brazil Junior-Senior High School Community Center Gymnasium, 202 N. Washington St., Brazil.

Rose played with many name bands of the late 60s and 70s, including John Lennon following the breakup of The Beatles. Rose has played professionally since he was 15.

Rose's career began with The Elephant's Memory, which scored a hit with "Mongoose" in 1970. The band toured the country as the opening act for The Allman Brothers.

The Son Catchers travel nationwide, performing contemporary Christian music, including "redeemed songs" from the classic rock era.
