Northview linksters place fourth in season opener

INDIANAPOLIS -- On Monday, the Northview High School girls' golf squad competed in its first match of the season, placing fifth at the Brebeuf Invitational, which took place at the Bent Tree Golf Course.

Northview scored a 409 in the event, which featured several state contenders.

"That is probably the most competitive tourney we'll play all year," NHS coach Josh Trout said.

Mary Beth Tribble shot an 85 to lead the Knights while Mandy Thomlinson had a 103. Sunny Shaw also had a 109 while Olivia Oehler finished with a 112 and Savanah Purcell finished with a 125. Alli Trout also shot a 136.

Carmel won the invitational.

Northview will compete in the Edgewood Invitational today at Stone Crest Golf Course in Bloomington, beginning at 10 a.m.
