Elliott Booe led the way for the Eels with 23 points and the Eels beat the Vincennes Rivet Patriots 64-50.
The Patriots had a good start and were up 16-13 after one quarter, but the Eels came out in the 2nd on fire and outscored the Patriots 21-10 to take an eight point halftime lead.
The Eels didn't slow down to start the 3rd quarter outscoring Vincennes Rivet 12-7 to increase the lead to 13 going into the 4th.
The scoring was pretty even in the 4th with the Eels outscoring the Patriots 18-17 and maintaining their lead to take the win on their home court. Clay City shot a scorching 53% from the floor, and the Patriots shot 44%. Camrand Tucker of the Eels had a phenomenal shooting night, shooting five-of-six from the field and two-of-four from the line scoring 12 points. He added five rebounds.
Matthew Farmer of the Eels was the only other player in double figures with 11 points, and he also had six rebounds. Landon Wellman distributed the ball well for the Eels, with five assists.
Brett Wickens of the Patriots hit five-of-five from the floor, two-for-two from the free throw line and had 16 points as the Patriots leading scorer.
With the win the Eels move to 5-2 overall. They have now won two in a row. It was an overall good night for the Eels as the JV won 44-26.
Brock Dyer had 17 points and Clay Jones had 14. The Eels get a long break before coming back on Tuesday, January 7 in the Green County Tourney at WRV. The games start at 6:30.
