Derek Mroczek (left) got his 30th win of the season during last Saturday's Owen Valley Regional. He, along with five teammates, will wrestle at the Bloomington South Regional.

Six Northview wrestlers will take part in the Bloomington South Regional on Saturday afternoon where the top three individuals from each weight class will advance to semistate competition. Unlike sectionals, a single elimination format will be used.

Joining the top four wrestlers in each class from Owen Valley's Sectional will be the top four from the always tough Jennings County Sectional which includes Bedford North Lawrence, Brown County, Columbus East, Columbus North, Jennings County, Madison, Seymour, Scottsburg and Southwestern (Hanover).

The Knights will send three second place sectional finishers in Cory Grigsby at 119 pounds, Derek Mroczek at 140 and Justin Wilson at 189 pounds. Austin Staley took third place at 130 pounds and will advance with Nelson Norton who was also third. Austin Nicosin will take a fourth place sectional finish on to regionals.

Mroczek and Staley each have compiled over 30 wins this season with Grigsby close behind at 26-6 and Wilson sitting on a 26-10 mark. Nicosin also has over 20 wins with Norton coming on strong in the late season with eight victories.

Staley also made the trip to regionals last year but came up just short of advancing when he took fourth place with a 1-2 record that Saturday. That place gave him the alternate slot for semistates. He went to Evansville's semistate his freshman season.

Mroczek was defeated in the first round last season in the 130 pound class and Wilson also dropped his first round match in the 189 pound division.

Wrestling action will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Bloomington South High School.
