The Brazil Venom AAU basketball team picked up another tournament title this past weekend with three wins, including a championship game victory over the Bloomfield Cardinals, 61-43.
In the title game, Brinn Meunier lead the way with 17 points and seven assists for the Venom. Joe Evinger was close behind with 16 points and six boards while Brodee Miller added eight points and a team-high seven rebounds. Zach Sanabria added nine points for Brazil.
In the opening game of the day for the Venom, Evinger had 18 points and five rebounds to lead the team to a 58-47 win over the Shawswick Eagles.
Matt Stuckey hit three 3-pointers for nine points and Meunier added another nine points and nine boards along with five assists. Miller had five blocked shots in the game along with seven points.
In game two, the Venom downed North Knox 55-39 behind Evinger's 16 points and Meunier's 12. Evinger added 12 rebounds, seven on the offensive glass, while Miller blocked five shots. Zach Sanabria added nine points and Devin Hyatt had six and five boards.
For the tournament, the team shot 55.4 percent from the field led by Evinger's 70.8 percent (17-of-24). He averaged 16.7 points per game over the tournament and added 7.7 rebounds per contest. Meunier followed with 12.7 ppg. and five assists while Sanabria had 7.3 ppg.
