Warmer weather brings Spring practice

Monday afternoon brought a return to warmer weather for area schools and with it, athletes headed outdoor for practices.

At Northview High School athletes were involved in baseball, softball, track and tennis practices outdoors at the school with the regular season quickly approaching for each sport.

For the Knight's baseball squad, their home season begins on Thursday afternoon with a contest against South Knox beginning at 6 p.m. They are the first team to begin their schedule with the varsity softball team hitting the field for a road trip to Western Indiana Conference foe Owen Valley on Tuesday, April 8 at 5 p.m.

The track team begins their year with a home meet versus the Patriots as well. The boys' and girls' meet kicks off at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 10.

The boys' golf program will look to continue their success of recent years when they open by hosting the Northview Invitational at Forest Park Golf Course at noon on Saturday, April 12.

Girls' tennis will be the final sport to get their start this year when they make the road trip to Plainfield for a 5 p.m. match on Monday, April 14.

Down in Clay City the softball squad will get their start on Monday with a road trip to Vincennes Rivet for a 5 p.m. start and the baseball team will kickoff their slate with a home game on Tuesday, April 8 at 5 p.m. versus Sullivan.

The track teams will visit South Vermillion on for a three-way meet with the Wildcats and Linton on April 14 at 5 p.m. and the golf team will play at Hoosier Hills on April 15 at 4:30 p.m. versus Rockville.
