Northview senior Jared Freeman earned medalist honors on Monday with a 36 versus Cloverdale at Forest Park.
The Northview golf team withstood a challenge from Cloverdale in soggy conditions at Forest Park Golf Course on Monday night.
The Knights downed the Clovers via tiebreaker as both teams tied with scores of 153 through their top four golfers. Freshman Adam Thiemann came through with the winning fifth score, carding a 41 for the Knights while Cloverdale's Corey Williams registered a 46.
Jared Freeman was low medalist in the match with a 36 while Eric Trusler shot a 38, Tyler Akers had a 39 and Austin Staley had a 40.
"Conditions weren't real suitable for golf tonight," said Northview coach Tony Trout. "We're still early in the season and we have some golfers struggling but we hope to get going as the season goes on."
Low golfer for Cloverdale was Dan Williams who shot a 37, Matt Langdon had a 38, Devan Barns had a 39 and John Yount registered a 39 as well.
Northview's junior varsity moved to 2-0 this season with a 157 as Caleb Edington shot a 38 to lead the way. The Knights won the match 157 to Cloverdale's 231.
Austin Schutte had a 39 and Devin Whittington had a 40 while Evan McCoy shot a 40 as well.
The Knight's varsity is now 1-1 in dual matches and will visit conference foe Owen Valley in an important dual match today at 5 p.m.
