Knights get hardcourt win over Rockville Rox

Northview posted a solid four matches to one victory over the Rockville Rox at home on Tuesday evening.

The Knights were rained out versus Terre Haute North on Monday night but were back on the court to take on the Rox with good results.

At No. 1 singles, Amy Robbins controlled her match versus Sara Lodin in getting a straight set, 6-3, 6-1 victory. At No. 2 singles, Brooke Yocom won her match with Rockville's Abigail Hanner, 6-3, 6-3.

The lone setback in singles action and in the match for the Knights was at No. 3 singles where Heather Palmer dropped a hard fought match with Mica Brown.

In doubles action, Lacy Emery and Katie Trout got the job done with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Lisa Akers and Karla Hopkins before Megan Love and Suzanne Deal dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision on Ashlyn Overpeck and Sharlie Patch of Rockville.

In junior varsity action, the Knights posted a 6-1 victory over the Rox.

Melissa Miller won 8-2 over Kristin Hawkins and Kristy Backfish won 8-4 over Kim Brown and Traci Hassler won 8-2 over Tia Brand.

Madason Stevenson won 8-5 over Hawkins, Sarah Cox won 8-3 over Brown and Cassie Web dropped a 4-8 decision to Brand.

In doubles, Brandi Butler and Rachel Deal won a long 8-4 match over Chelci Marspin and Brittany Passmore.

The Knights have re-scheduled their match with the Patriots for this evening at home.
