Northview senior Amos Wegner has always seemed to play at another speed than those around him.
On the basketball court he flies around with reckless abandon with seemingly no regard for his body, as long as he can help the team.
On the football field he was the Knight's stopper in the secondary. A defensive back who was near the top of the state leaderboard in interceptions through six games.
Next Fall he'll be taking his football talents to play for Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan.
Wegner will join a squad that was 4-6 overall last season after posting an 8-2 record the previous season.
He'll play for former University of Michigan running back Fred Julian who has been with the Raiders for nearly two decades.
In Wegner, the Raiders will get a solid running back who has a solid burst of speed and who totaled 296 yards on 61 carries last season despite missing two games with a neck injury.
The 5'11, 170 pound senior was an All-Western Indiana Conference player who registered 21 tackles from his defensive back position and six interceptions for the Knights last season.
