The Northview baseball team is starting to hit their full stride at just the right team this season.
The Knights completed a two-game sweep of Western Indiana Conference competitor West Vigo on Friday evening that left Northview with a 7-3 overall record in the WIC.
With Friday evening's 8-0 shutout, the Knights have now won three consecutive conference games which should give them some solid momentum heading into today's Big Four contests with Terre Haute South (10 a.m.) and Terre Haute North (5:30 p.m. approx.)
On Friday evening, the Knights took an early 3-0 lead in the third inning as Jacob Jones ripped a three-run homerun for his lone hit of the evening.
T.J. King was another factor at the plate for the Knights as he compiled a pair of hits, including a double that added up to three RBI's for the Knights. He also scored a run for Northview.
C.J. Peters was the deciding factor on the mound for Northview with a complete game shutout for Northview.
The versatile Peters, who had a pair of victories and a pair of saves coming into the game, went the distance while ringing up nine strikeouts and allowing just five hits from the Vikings in getting his third win of the season.
He would also help his cause with two hits and a run scored.
Andrew Griffin scored two runs for Northview and Ryan Herbert and Jason Brown each had RBI's for the Knights. Tyler Broady scored a run and Brady Shoemaker added a double.
The Knights are now 13-4 overall this season heading into today's games.
