The Northview Knights junior varsity baseball team scored in every inning on their way to a second straight lopsided victory over the Sullivan Golden Arrows on Monday evening.
While hosting the Northview Invitational on May 3, the Knights pounded Sullivan 26-0 and on Monday evening the result wasn't much different as Northview won 23-2.
Troy Sanders would get the victory on the mound over five innings, allowing five hits, two runs and striking out three.
But the real story was the Knight's prowess at the plate.
Northview would pound out 18 hits, including six extra base hits versus the Golden Arrows.
Leadoff hitter Shane Cooper would reach base ball five times, twice by walk, once by error and twice with a single while scoring four times in the contest. Shawn Hughes provided much of the early damage for Northview with a pair of two-RBI singles, one in the first and another in the second inning. He would add an RBI single and an RBI groundout to give him six runs driven in for the game.
Ryan Nees swung a big bat for the Knights as well, providing a triple that drove in two runs and a double that drove in another during an 11-run third inning that shut the door on Sullivan. For the game, Nees would score three times while compiling three hits and three RBI's.
Sanders would get three doubles in the game and score three runs to go with a pair of RBI's.
All told, nine Northview players would reach base via hit and all nine would score at least one run in the game.
The Knights will face Mooresville on the road Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. with the varsity playing afterwards.
