The North Clay girls track team took second place in a battle with Putnam County neighbors Cloverdale and South Putnam on Monday evening. The boys team was third to Cloverdale's first and South Putnam's second place.
Tiffany Young and Sayli Parr began the evening with a second and fourth place finish in the 2,400 meters while Ashley Davis won the shotput and Ashley McDonald won the discus.
McDonald was also third in the shot while Jonna Harlan took third in the disc. Jenica Yocom was second in the longjump with a leap of 13-4 1/2.
In low hurdles, Kyler Clark finished third and Morgan Judd was fourth.
On the track, Renee Leslie took second in the 100 meters while the 400 relay also finished second. Cayla Yockey and Andrea Thomas finished third and fourth respectively in the 200 meters.
Hannah Hunter finished first in the 400 meters and Tiffany Young was first in the 800. The 1,600 meter relay team capped the evening with a win.
In the boys meet, Hunter Reberger was the lone winner with a first place in the 800 meter. He was also third in the long jump and fourth in the 100 meters.
Drew White was second in the 2,400 meters and fourth in the 200 whle Clint Grey was second in the 110 meter hurdles. Jared Royer was third in the 1,600 meters while Chris Smith was fourth in the 2,400 meters. Alex Smith was fourth in the 110 hurdles, Seth Wright was also fourth in the 1,600 while Jared Swift was fourth in the 400 and Griffin Maurer was fourth in the 800.
The 400 relay team of Smith, Reberger, White and Grey placed second and the 1,600 relay team of Bryan, Wright, Swift and Grey was also second.
The teams will compete in the Clay City Invitational at 4:30 p.m on Thursday.
