Northview's Austin Schutte and Kyle Kumpf warm up before a match this week.

Staff Reports

The Northview golf team is beginning to hit stride at exactly the right time as they snapped a six-match losing streak over their brutal schedule by defeating visiting Bloomington North 136-143 on Thursday night.

Eric Trusler led the way with a career best score of 32, three-under par.

Trusler put together a hot opening stretch beginning on Hole No. 2 when he ripped off a birdie, eagle, par, birdie group that put him in position for an excellent round.

Jared Freeman also posted a below-par round with his 33. Tyler Akers registered an even par 35 and Devin Whittington rounded out the scoring for Northview with his 36.

Shawn Toddy and Brett Headley led Bloomington North with even par 35's.

The win gets Northview on track for this weekend's WIC golf meet at Salt Creek Golf Course in Brown County on Saturday at 10 a.m.
