The Knights were victorious in their meet as Freeman recorded the low medalist score with his 33 and Trusler scored a 37 as the Knights won 140-160 over West Vigo.

The Northview Knights sent seniors Jared Freeman and Eric Trusler away with a victory on Senior Night at Forest Park Golf Course Thursday night.

Not that Freeman and Trusler didn't play key roles in their own right as the Knights defeated West Vigo in their final home match of the season, 140-160.

Freeman was the low medalist of the match as he recovered from an opening bogey after three putting the first hole. He came back to finish off a round of two-under 33 to take honors for the match.

Teammate Caleb Edington was second lowest in the match with his 34 and Tyler Akers carded a 36, just ahead of Trusler and Austin Staley who scored a 37. Adam Thiemann scored a 39 in the varsity match.

The top scorer for the Vikings was Devon Klutey who scored a 36, followed by Josh Miley's 41 and Alex Brooks' 41.

In the junior varsity match, the Knights were also victorious as Logan Whitman led the way with his 35. Northview scored a 147-175 victory over the Kings JV squad.

Kyle Kumpf had a 36, Roy Wyndham had a 38 along with Austin Schutte and Devin Whittington, Jacob Talbot and Brian Metz each had a 41. Evan McCoy had a 42.

The Knights will be in action Tuesday with a match at Sultan's Run Golf Course in Jasper and an 18-hole match at Hulman Links versus Terre Haute North, Clay City and North Central on Thursday afternoon.
