At the Frankfort soccer tournament this weekend, the Northview Knights showed the signs of a long week of game action.
The Knights picked up a win in their first game, 3-0, over Winnemac as Shawn Piatt tallied a pair of goals and Dustin Jorgensen added a goal and an assist. The team controlled the game according to coach Todd LaComba, however, the injury bug struck the Knights once more.
Jason Short suffered a hamstring injury adding his name to a list of five other starters who have missed time this year.
In the championship game, those injuries and the challenge of a fourth game in a week caught up to Northview in an 8-0 loss to the host Frankfort squad.
"They really took control early, working the ball around flawlessly," commented LaComba. "Our guys were a bit flat and disorganized, which I think is due to the ever changing lineup. This first week was a tough one, we had four games, which is a bit much and you can understand why we are a little slow out of the gates."
The Knights (1-3 overall) will face Greencastle at home on Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m.
